It is important to remember that government is supposed to work and do the bidding of the taxpayer...Somewhere along the line, it seems as the taxpayer is supposed to produce and provide for hundreds of thousands of individuals who barely work, are barely productive…

For me, my personal “Hope” is for Mayor Johnson’s name to stop popping up in ridiculous stories of personal political gain. I’m sure his time would be best spent working on the safety and commercial development of the city.

Sacramento’s mayor should have the power to enact direction for the city.

This kind of Gestapo-like tactic is wrong and foolish and is in the same vain of political activity which has in the past brought a reputation of buffoonery to our body politic. 

Due to past government interference in lending conditions and the current state of the economy, specifically the housing markets, government action is necessary to correct the mistakes of the past

So First of all, the last thing I want to see is ANY local government politician in the state of California cry or whine about anything related to taxation or fees. 

most people who have dogs in this particular hunt don’t even vote. 

are we going through the motions?

The “CIA lied to us?” Let’s see...That could have come out of the mouth of Castro, Mao, or Saddam.

The Capital Elector has been on a very log break as you know. It was longer than I had anticipated. This post is to give you some insight on what’s gone on for me in the last 6 months.

When I attended a recent political forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters, I was prepared to jot down information to help win the war against the incumbents running for Elk Grove City Council....As the forum went on I was amazed at the audaciousness our incumbents exhibited in their attempt to justify their past eight years in office.  They clearly exhibited a lack of humility when explaining past decisions, ignorance when offering up to-little-too-late solutions and arrogance when asking for our vote.

From the very beginning of his campaign, Kevin Johnson had everything going for him.

The Police get fantastic benefits and a retirement program. The Police department is not hurting. Give me a break! Most of Sacramento crime is petty and B&E, anyway. They can handle that. They can be resilient. You as a private citizen has to do it - ah...they can too.

We have too many friends on both sides of the aisle and on some levels Im not comfortable telling people who I think they should vote for. You should figure that out for yourselves. That’s democracy. (of course, if someone is full of lawlessness, that goes without saying.)

Last night the Bee launched a new blog; “The Swarm”. A blog by the braintrust that is the Editorial Board of the Sacramento bee. Now, let me say that im digging the title. Creative. I like it.

Well, until I read it.

(A Demo Kool-Aid Drinker is a partisan who sees no fault in their party and one who blindly follows folks like Gavin Newsom and Nancy Pelosi without reservation; also Bush is the Devil, Obama is the Second Coming and so forth.)
